May is the Month of Family in Songpa

The Songpa-gu Office to Hold Many Special Family Events in May




Special Event for Encouraging Filial Piety

On the occasion of Parents’ Day (May 8), the Songpa-gu Office will hold a special event for presenting carnations to local senior citizens and presenting awards to exemplary filial children.
The Songpa Youth Choir will also hold a performance for senior citizens.

Children's Day Grand Festival

Songpa is planning a Grand Festival for children, who are our future hope.
Charter for Children will be announced and performances will be held for children.

The 2nd National Greatest Daddy Contest

This contest attracted great attention last year.
In its second occasion, the annual event will be held to encourage hard-working fathers nationwide.

The 1st Nolja (Merrymaking) Festival

During the festival, a variety of programs to watch, experience, and enjoy will be prepared for the youth.
The event will be held to provide young folks with an opportunity to have a good time under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Traditional Coming-of-Age Ceremony

Traditionally, this ceremony has been considered as the first step preceding the other important ceremonies in life: wedding, funeral, and worshipping ancestors.
This ceremony will be held to encourage those who will become adults to fulfill their responsibilities and obligations as members of the community.
This year, the event will be held with 50 soon-to-be-adults as a significant hands-on experience.
